Psychotherapy in Munich-Schwabing

Welcome to my private practice for psychotherapy. As a licensed  psychotherapist, I offer you a confidential and supportive environment to treat mental health problems using evidence-based methods of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. If you are experiencing ongoing emotional distress or feel that your mental wellbeing has become unbalanced, I will support you in regaining stability, clarity, and quality of life.

My therapeutic approach

Individual.
Evidence-based.

In my practice, I offer Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) for adults, both in individual and group settings. My goal is to help you create meaningful changes in your everyday life and to develop effective strategies for dealing with challenging situations. For this, it is important not only to focus on current difficulties, but also to take a closer look at your personal history. This helps build a deeper understanding of your own patterns of thinking and behavior.

My approach is structured, supportive, and collaborative: I’ll accompany you along the way, offer guidance and new perspectives, while encouraging you to take an active role and responsibility in your personal development.

With my background in research, I place great importance on an evidence-based approach. This means that the therapeutic methods I use are grounded in scientific research and are continuously updated in line with new findings and developments in the field.

I look forward to meeting you!

What I offer.

I specialize in cognitive-behavioral therapy for adults, meaning all individuals from the age of 18 onwards.

Cognitive behavioral therapy

Areas of expertise:

  • Affective disorders (e.g., depression, bipolar disorder)
  • Anxiety disorders (e.g., panic disorder, phobias)
  • Adjustment disorders (e.g., grief, conflicts at work, separation)
  • Neurodevelopmental disorders (e.g., autism spectrum disorder, ADHD)
  • Self-esteem issues
  • Obsessive-compulsive disorders
  • Trauma-related disorders
  • Somatoform disorders and psychosomatic complaints
  • Burnout
  • Sleep disorders

Video therapy

Therapy sessions can also be conducted conveniently online – securely via data protection-compliant video platforms. Online therapy is particularly suitable if you wish to remain flexible or if in-person appointments are not feasible. In terms of content, it does not differ from a regular session at my practice and provides the same level of professional support. However, it is recommended to have at least one initial in-person meeting in order to get to know each other and to clarify all necessary formalities.

Coaching

In coaching, I support you in gaining clarity about your personal or professional goals and in developing concrete steps toward change. Unlike psychotherapy, coaching does not focus on the treatment of mental health disorders, but rather on strengthening resources, enhancing self-efficacy, and fostering personal growth. Coaching can help you make decisions with greater confidence, manage stress more effectively, and gain new perspectives.

About me.

As a psychotherapist with many years of experience in research, I am particularly committed to integrating current scientific findings into therapeutic practice. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy forms the foundation of my work – while it is important to me to focus on concrete changes in the here and now, I also place great value on incorporating biographical backgrounds and individual life stories into the therapeutic process.

In addition to my research activities, I have gained extensive experience in both inpatient and outpatient psychotherapy. This combination of research and practice enables me to support my patients with expertise and empathy, while remaining in line with the current standards of psychotherapy.

I look forward to getting to know you!

Professional experience.

How it works.

1

Get in touch

Are you looking for support in dealing with stress or emotional challenges? Please  contact me via the contact form or by phone to arrange an appointment for an initial consultation.

2

Initial consultation

In this initial session, we will get to know each other. You will share your current situation and expectations, and I will provide you with an initial assessment and recommendations for the next steps.

3

Probatory sessions

In up to four sessions, you will have the opportunity to become familiar with my therapeutic approach and to determine whether you feel comfortable working with me as your therapist. At the same time, we can explore your concerns in greater depth and formulate potential goals together. If applicable, we will also initiate the process of applying for cost coverage with your health insurance provider.

4

Start of therapy

Only once you feel confident and the framework conditions have been clarified will we jointly decide whether and how to formally begin the therapy.

Sessions last 50 minutes and are typically held on a weekly basis.

Rates.

I am a licensed psychotherapist and work in my own private practice. This means that I provide treatment for individuals with private health insurance, those eligible for "Beihilfe", or those who wish to cover the costs themselves.

My fees are based on the current "Gebührenordnung für Psychotherapeuten" (GOP) as well as on the new billing recommendations agreed upon by the Federal Chamber of Psychotherapists, the German Medical Association, federal and state aid providers (with the exception of Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein), and the Association of Private Health Insurers, effective July 1, 2024.

The costs of an individual session may vary between 160€-170€ (50 minutes). In addition to regular therapy sessions, additional services may be required depending on individual needs—for example, a biographical anamnesis, the evaluation of questionnaires and other diagnostic tools, or the preparation of formal health insurance applications.

Private health insurance

Private health insurances usually cover the costs of psychotherapy. Please check with your insurance provider in advance about the exact conditions and clarify the following points:

  • Amount of reimbursement (full coverage, percentage, etc.)
  • Scope of reimbursement (trial sessions, maximum number of therapy sessions)
  • Required documents for the application process

Private pay

As a self-paying patient, you can start therapy flexibly and directly, without the need for an application process or approval from an insurance provider. Billing is based on the GOP. This option may be especially suitable if you value discretion or wish to begin quickly.

Please note that coaching is always a self-funded service.

Public health insurance

My practice is a private practice and therefore not part of the public health care system. For this reason, I am unfortunately unable to bill treatments through the public health insurance providers.
If you are covered by public health insurance, you have the option of covering the costs yourself. In addition, you can contact the Kassenärztliche Vereinigung Bayern (KVB) to inquire about available therapy slots with psychotherapists who are licensed to bill public health insurance.
